One form before your first payout.
We are a United States company, so before we pay commission we have to know whether the person we are paying is a US taxpayer. One short form answers that. It is free, and it goes to us, not to a tax office.
Last updated: 20 September 2026
Which form is yours
- • Based in the United States, or a US citizen or resident living anywhere: Form W-9.
- • An individual or sole trader outside the United States: Form W-8BEN.
- • A company or other entity outside the United States: Form W-8BEN-E.
All three are published by the US Internal Revenue Service at irs.gov, with instructions. You do not need a US tax number to complete a W-8BEN; your own country's tax number is what it asks for.
How to send it
If you are paid through Stripe, Stripe verifies your identity and tax details while you set up your payout account, and we only ask you for a form if our own records need one. If you are paid by Wise or PayPal, email the signed form as a PDF to support@endlesstravelplans.com from the address on your partner account. We record the date we received it, and payout requests open once it is on file.
How long it lasts
A W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E stays valid until the last day of the third calendar year after the year you sign it, unless your details change first: a form signed in 2026 runs to 31 December 2029. We will ask for a new one before it lapses. A W-9 has no expiry; send a new one if your name, business type or tax number changes.
What we do with it
We keep it with your payout records, use it only to work out our own US reporting duties, and do not pass it to your country's tax authority. Where US law requires us to report what we paid a US partner, we send that partner a Form 1099-NEC after the year ends. Commission is always paid in US dollars, and declaring it in your own country is your responsibility.
This is not tax advice
We can tell you which form we need and why. We cannot tell you how commission is taxed where you live; an accountant there can.
