That is a platform record, not Disney's own rate card. Resorts with a meal plan don't itemise breakfast.

Seven nights of self-parking at Aulani runs $280 at the packager's rate, on top of whatever the car itself costs (as of September 2026, source: Costco Travel listing). That's the trade in plain terms: a car buys you Pearl Harbor, the North Shore and a supermarket run, and it costs you the price of a luau before you've turned the key. Families who plan to leave Ko Olina more than twice should pay it. Families whose whole trip is the pool shouldn't. Either way, aim for an arrival that lands before dinner rather than at 10pm, because the transfer and the check-in queue both sit between the gate and a bed. Can Anyone Visit Aulani Without Staying?

Partly, and the distinction matters. The beach is open to you. The resort is not.

Ko Olina's four lagoons and the sandy beaches around them are privately owned, with pedestrian traffic permitted to and from the lagoon beaches, and separately to the rocky shoreline for fishermen; daily public parking in designated areas is available from sunrise to sunset on a first come first served basis (as of September 2026, source: Ko Olina). There are no lifeguards on duty and swimmers go in at their own risk. On the lagoon beaches themselves the rules are tighter: reef-safe sunscreen is required, and alcohol, fires, camping, fishing, drones and oversized inflatables are all prohibited. What exists is consistent unofficial description rather than a fact. The scent is widely reported as coconut and pineapple, and a third-party candle company sells a product marketed on that description, which tells you what the crowd smells rather than what Disney mixed. The one on-property fragrance a named publication has documented is at the spa: Elite Daily's account of the Signature Lomilomi massage at Laniwai lists the lotion choices as coconut, lime and lilikoi, lavender, or pineapple, and describes the pineapple option as smelling like a Dole Whip all day (published September 2025, source: Elite Daily). So: coconut and pineapple, unofficially, and nobody at Disney has said so on the record. If somebody tells you the exact blend, ask them where they read it.

Is Aulani Worth the Money?

That's a real number for a real week, and it's the number to hold every alternative against.

What the money buys that a cheaper Ko Olina hotel doesn't: a supervised kids club for ages 4 through 12 with no published fee, a lagoon and pool complex your kids won't want to leave, and the Disney layer on top. • You want to see Oahu rather than a resort. Ko Olina is 25 miles from Honolulu and the parking line runs $40 a night, so an island-hopping week costs more here than it does from town.
