How much does a fortnight in Orlando from Dublin cost a family of four?

A July 2027 fortnight from Dublin costs four about €13,500 at a hotel or €14,900 in a Kissimmee villa (as of October 2026, sources: Aer Lingus, Walt Disney Travel Company). Neither total includes food or insurance. The table prices two adults and children aged 6 and 10 for Saturday 3 to 17 July 2027.

How long is a flight from Dublin to Orlando?

Aer Lingus says its direct flight from Dublin to Orlando takes around 9 hours 25 minutes (as of October 2026, source: Aer Lingus). On our dates, the flight out is timed at 9 hours 15 minutes and the flight home at 8 hours 20 minutes. Orlando's airport is about 6,540 km (4,070 miles) from Dublin's in a straight line.

You clear US immigration at Dublin's preclearance, so you skip the immigration queues on landing. Declare any food in your hand luggage (carry-on, in US terms).

Smart from €1,230 per adult, the fare Aer Lingus's search showed for 3 July, is €75 above Saver's and adds a 23 kg checked bag and seat selection. Children aged 2 to 11 can cost less, so for this family of four Smart comes to €7,812.80 for both flights. Seats together on Saver cost €24.99 each per flight, about €200 for four both ways, against the two adults' €300 Saver saving. If you'll check a case, add Aer Lingus's bag fee to Saver before you pick it over Smart.

The EI 121 leaves Dublin at 14:15. The villa family's Alamo car is booked for 19:30, so a 6-year-old is still on the road at bedtime on day one. If your youngest is asleep by 8 p.m., pack pyjamas in the hand luggage and plan nothing for day one.

Which airports besides Dublin fly to Orlando?

On Aer Lingus, Shannon, Manchester, London Heathrow and Edinburgh all reach Orlando with one stop on Saturday 3 July 2027, and only Dublin is direct. Virgin Atlantic flies Manchester to Orlando direct, and its 30 January 2026 release expects more Manchester capacity for summer 2027.

In the hub table, Shannon's cheapest routing was from €693 per adult via Boston. That is €462 less one way than Dublin's direct Saver fare of €1,155, both fares Aer Lingus's search showed for 3 July.

Shannon's routing stops in Boston, adding 3 hours 17 minutes. Aer Lingus offers US Preclearance at Shannon as well as Dublin, so you clear US immigration before the Boston leg. If you live near Dublin, fly direct. If you live nearer Shannon and €462 per adult on the way out is worth the longer day, fly Shannon; with a 6-year-old, we'd pay for Dublin's direct flight.

Do children need an ESTA for Orlando?

Yes: every traveller needs an ESTA or a visa, babies included, and each ESTA costs US$40.62. The table shows that Irish, UK and most EU passports need only an ESTA.

An Irish child passport lasts five years and costs €20 plus €5 postage through Passport Online. CBP recommends that a parent flying alone carries a note from the child's other parent. No ESTA means no boarding, so apply for all four the evening you book.

Villa or hotel: which is cheaper for four?

The hotel is cheaper for four, by about €1,480, because the villa needs a hire car and Disney park parking (as of October 2026, sources: Alamo, Walt Disney World). Vacasa's Silver Palms townhouse has three bedrooms, a private pool and room for nine. It shows US$2,622.11 for 14 nights with all fees, and checkout adds US$353.99 in taxes.

Hilton's one-bedroom suite sleeps four: US$2,646 for 14 nights at its US$189 average. Orange County's taxes add 12.5%, about US$331, for about US$2,977.

The villa family needs Alamo's Standard SUV, €1,167.01 for 14 days. Disney's standard parking adds up to US$490 if you drive to a theme park on all 14 days. That's US$35 a day, sales tax included, and water park parking is free.

Hilton's resort charge buys a Disney parks shuttle, so the hotel needs only an airport transfer. Mears Connect's standard shuttle costs about US$136 return for four, fuel surcharge included. Mears lists this hotel as one it serves.

The table shows how the gap moves with the days you drive.

If you're doing Disney days and wouldn't hire a car otherwise, book the hotel: its shuttles do the car's job for about €1,480 less. If you'd hire a car anyway, for Universal or the beaches, the villa costs at most about €435 more, mostly Disney's parking. If three bedrooms and a private pool are worth that, pick the villa.

Food is the other lever. Hilton's Kids Eat Free gives one child a free kids' meal with each adult main. So the 6-year-old and the 10-year-old eat free from the kids' menu beside two adult mains. If the villa's kitchen still saves you more than about €106 a day (about €1,480 over 14 days), pick the villa for Disney days.

How much are Disney World tickets in euros?

A 14-Day Magic Ticket first used on 3 July 2027 costs €692.71 from age 10 and €658.52 for younger children (as of October 2026, source: Walt Disney Travel Company). The child price covers ages 3 to 9, so this family pays about €2,740.

The ticket covers any 14 days within 18, with park hopping and the water parks. When should Irish families go to Orlando?

If your school allows, fly at Easter: Smart fares for four cost €6,134.30 for 20 March to 3 April 2027 (as of October 2026, source: Aer Lingus). Orlando's normal high is 26.1°C in March and 33.3°C (92.0°F) in July, with 189 mm of July rain. The table maps school calendars to those fortnights.

Ireland's one-week October mid-term (half term, in Britain) can't hold this fortnight, and New York City's spring break (its spring recess) starts after Easter. If school breaks up by Friday 2 July, take July; if your 6-year-old struggles in heat, take Easter.

Ways to cut the cost

Flying at Easter is the biggest cut we priced: about €1,680 off the flights for four (as of October 2026, source: Aer Lingus). We didn't price Easter tickets, stays or car hire.

Each smaller cut has a catch:

• Hotel: Hilton's Non-refundable rate, US$159 a night, saves US$420 before tax, but you can't cancel. Hold Flexible until flights are paid.
• Car: if two adults and kids of 6 and 10 can fit four cases, the Intermediate SUV saves about €149; pre-pay to save about €58.
• Flights: Saver is €75 below Smart per adult each way, but seats together cost €24.99 each per flight; pick it only for hand luggage. Four seats together on both flights add about €200.
• Dates: Aer Lingus's route page shows July 2027 fares from €451.27 each way, which may include a connection, so price the days either side of 3 July.

Is Orlando from Dublin worth it for a fortnight?

Yes, for a two-week Disney holiday (a vacation, in US terms) with children aged 6 to 10, because flights are more than half of either total. A fortnight spreads them. We priced 14 nights only. If you can take only one week off school, we'd pick a closer holiday.

If you're doing Disney days, book the hotel on Smart fares, and fly at Easter if school allows, then price that fortnight's stay and tickets.
